DESICCANT DRYER RANGE
(BD HEAT REACTIVATION DRYERS)

BD Heat reactivated adsorption dryers

When absolutely dry air is essential

In many applications, absolutely dry air is a must. Instrument air, processes with rapid air expansion, dry powder conveying, ...

Many methods have been devised to dry air but the only efficient way to reduce the risks of water induced problems and to totally remove the water is the adsorption process used in the Atlas Copco BD adsorption dryer. Dewpoints as low as -70°C can be reached.

Meeting the highest air purification criteria

When high air quality criteria are paramount, the BD adsorption dryer from Atlas Copco is your best option.

In an optimal compressed air system, the air dryer is only one of several components, each working on a specific parameter. It is preferred to cool the air as much as possible before it enters the dryer. An air receiver or cyclone separator, with condensate drain, will remove any condensate. With oil-injected compressors, a de-oiling filter is required.

Atlas Copco BD dryers efficiently reduce the risk of water induced problems. A subsequent dust filter could be required to remove dust produced by the drying agent.

Standard options

Considerable energy savings with dewpoint control

Normally the dryer moves the drying operation from one tower to the other on a regular basis. Alternatively, this movement can be controlled by a dewpoint sensor measurement. When the dewpoint reaches a preset point the dryer will automatically switch towers.

This results in an extension of the drying time and considerable energy saving when the dryer is not operating at maximum capability. Energy savings are high and can be as much as 70%. The dewpoint will be measured continuously and the actual dewpoint will be shown on the dryer display.

Filter Pack

Optional pre- and after-filters ensure that the compressed air meets the highest air purity standards.

  • The pre-assembled filters, PD and DDp have a differential pressure alarm connected to the display. An indication will be given on the display when it is time to replace the filter element.
  • The pre-assembled PD filter range comprises high efficiency coalescing filters, removing liquid water and oil aerosol to 0.01 mg/m (0.01 ppm) and particles down to 0.01 micron.
  • The after assembled DDp filter range consists of particulate filters for dust protection, removing particles down to 1 micron
  • Several IN and OUTLET configuration possibilities by simply turning the tubes. This simplifies the installation and reduces floor space.
